Yusuf Hai, Managing Director, Business Advisory Services

Yusuf came to CIG Corp. in 2006 as its vice president of advisory services having served in project and senior leadership positions for consulting firms such as Accenture, and PWC Diamond Advisory Services. His extensive expertise includes:  Financial and strategic business consulting, mergers and acquisitions, investment banking and private equity transactions. Through the years, Yusuf developed a strong niche within the health care sector. As a result, has helped physician practices, not-for-profit organizations and health care companies to improve their market share and maintain sound financial health.

His philanthropic milestones are equally impressive. He currently serves as a board member for the Whitestone Foundation and Canton Community Foundation. He is trustee of the Michigan Education Council and a co-founder of the American Learning Institute for Muslims. Yusuf has completed executive education coursework at New York University. Currently, he is pursuing his M.B.A. in strategy and management from the prestigious Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan where he also received a Certificate of Management and a B.A. in economics.


 David Martin, CFA®, Managing Director, Asset Management

David Martin started his career in Baltimore in 1994 as an associate analyst in the private client research group at Alex Brown & Sons. In this position, David covered a wide variety of industries and sectors ranging from financials, retail, health care and technology, has published numerous research reports and has been quoted in the media. After several years on the sell side, David moved to the buy side by pursuing a career in equity trading at one of the largest proprietary trading firms in New York.

David joined CIG Corp. in 2004 to spearhead its efforts in launching CIG CAM, LP, its first proprietary product. His 11years of experience have been used to cultivate the methods and models employed for CIG asset management. David graduated with a B.A. in economics from the University of Michigan and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.


Paul Schapira, Managing Director, Alternative Investments

Paul Schapira has more than 20 year of consulting expertise in private equity, asset management, merger and acquisitions, banking, strategic planning and turnaround management. Most recently, he held the ambitious post of senior vice president and head of special assets and non-core assets for Flagstar Bank. Through the years, Paul has offered his invaluable direction to various executive committees and boards, including ALS of Michigan, Inc. and the Detroit chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG). He holds an M.B.A. from Carnegie Mellon University and B.A. from the University of Michigan.


Howard L. Margolis, CTFA, Managing Director, Wealth Management

Howard L. Margolis, Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA), recently joined CIG Corp. as its vice president, wealth management. With more than 25 years of significant financial service experience, Howard has an impressive reputation as a trusted advisor and leader in the local community and is known for objective planning, unbiased investing and exceptional client service.

Prior to CIG Corp., Howard served as the managing director and the director of wealth management for The Private Bank, Michigan. There he was responsible for the daily operations, business development and marketing of the Bank’s wealth management, fiduciary, and risk management service lines. Additionally, he headed up its national financial advisory services team.

Throughout his career, Howard has established a presence as a notable consultant and speaker for retirement, charitable, tax, and estate planning issues. He first began addressing Fortune 500 and U.S. government audiences as a vice president and regional trust specialist for Salomon Smith Barney, a position in which he assisted more than a 1,000 financial consultants with their clients’ tax and estate planning needs.

Howard holds a B.A. in finance from Michigan State University and the Regent’s College of London. He completed graduate work at Mount St. Mary’s College and Walsh College. His professional and community pursuits abound, including: formerly serving on the board of directors for Bank One Trust Company, as a member of the Southeast Michigan Financial and Estate Planning Council and as member of the planned giving committee for the Crittenton Hospital Medical Center Foundation.

Robert Ooms, C.P.A. and C.M.A., Controller

Robert has more than 20 years of corporate finance and accounting experience. Previously he served National Airlines as its corporate financial officer and controller where he admirably guided the company to record growth. Robert's career also includes successful stints in automotive, public accounting and manufacturing. He is a Certified Management Accountant (C.M.A.) and a Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.). He holds an M.B.A. from Wayne State University and a B.S. in accounting from Oakland University.
